New Yamaha Waverunners and used Jetskis - Authorised Yamaha dealer

Dear Customer and Friends,

It's now 31 years ago that I got involved with a hobby called Jet-skiing. It was very new back then when I purchased my first Jetski in 1986 from Midway Watersports in Leeds; the owner was a gentleman called Tony Butterfield who went on to become the owner of Fosse Hill Jetski Centre.

Having enrolled at Stafford College on a City & Guilds course in motor mechanics from when I left school I enjoyed working on engines, so in 1990 I started tuning my own and friend's personal watercraft out of a steel hut at Trentham Lake Jet-Skiing. Our watercraft did very well at the race meetings with my top riders Craig and Shaun Mullinex; their Dad was Phil Mullinex who you will all know as Jetcraft's top mechanic. Our results got noticed and we were asked by a gentleman called Fred Aspin from Yamaha UK, who already helped with the sponsorship of Craig, if I would help with the other watercraft that Yamaha sponsored. One watercraft in particular that I recall tuning was for a lady called Cathy O'Neil who went on to become British Champion alongside Craig. It wasn't long before we then had watercraft coming from all over the UK to be tuned and the business started.

We moved out of the steel hut and into a rented unit at Silverdale Business Park where the business kept growing and we acquired the Yamaha franchise. In 1997 we purchased the London Road premises in Stoke-on-Trent and from that day the business only went in one direction... UP!!! In our new premises we grew to the point of selling over 150 new and used watercraft on a yearly basis to our customer base both in the UK and abroad. However, for the last few years up until 2015 stock availability from Yamaha Motors Europe was reduced to a point that I decided to sell our 3500sq foot premises to Ducati Motorcycles and we moved to Blythe bridge as a stop gap until enough stock became available to go again!!!

With much regret and sadness, earlier this year my right hand man and best friend Phil 'Mr dry humour' Mullinex had to leave us due to illness and left me deciding which way to go forward. My decision is now to close down Jetcraft Performance Ltd at the end of December 2017.

On that note I would like to thank all our customers and friends, and I do mean all of you, for making Jetcraft such an enjoyable and successful business.

I would also like to thank some very special people; Mr David Pougher (formerly Yamaha Motors UK) who helped Jetcraft climb the initial ladder to success, all staff new and old at Yamaha Motors UK, Brian at N&C Jetski, Chris Harper at RJP Marine, Tim Holgate at Typhoon, Dave Keates, Chris Cotterill, Vaughan Betts and Fred Exon & family (Six Hills Jetski), who I wish all the very best for their new life and chapter in South Africa.

Wishing you all many more happy years of jet-skiing and sending you all my best wishes into the new year.

Kind Regards

Anthony
